Fantastic Journey

Fantastic Journey - (personal opinion) Well, this was one mistake of mine...
One day as i was going through some games in a store i found Final Fantasy VIII and i thought to myself "damn! i can't believe it, i finnaly found this game!!". I bought it and i ran home to immediatly play it. But... unfortunatly, it wasn't working. Sadly i came back to the store and i got my money back, but i still wanted i game. And i saw this one, and i always wanted a good pinball game. So i bought it. Although it isn't a horribe game, it isn'tvery good.
Well, to begin i can say that i was disapointed with the game because i found out that there was only one pinball table. A good pinball game has a variety of these.
Although the action in the game is good, because you have to do missions and everything, i find the windows microsoft pinball much more satisfying.
The graphics (even in PS1 standards) aren't too good. Perhaps the only positive thing in this game is the music (which isn't that great either). I never finnished this game, for it is more than i can stand.. but from time to time i can still play it. In the end, it is a good game for those pinball fanatics. If you're not one of those, don't try this game.
Pinball for the gratest fans!

Onimusha - Warlords

Onimusha - Warlords (personal opinion) - I bought this game just because of two coincidences. First, it was on sale in a second hand store. Second, i had heard a lot about the name of this game, but on the other hand, i knew nothing about it.
It acctually lived up to it's name.
This is the first chapter of the Onimusha saga, and what a chapter. Although there was still of developments that could be made. But first things first.
Graphically this game went allong with expectations for the PS2, having good details and proper game graphicial work. As for sound, not much was involved in this game's music except for some songs of feudal Japan. Nothing too bad nor too good (a development for this would be for capcom to carry out some of the sound work of Resident Evil).
In terms of gameplay, a lot could be done... Samanosuke is an almost static character. Having the basic maneuver movements close to the movements of, for example, of Leon in RE2 (but RE2 wins, mainly because Samanosukehas a sword and Leon a gun. You expect much more maneuver abbility and more jumping and dogging from a person with a sword than a person with a gun). My advice would be to adapt, not fully of course, the gameplay of Prince of Persia. Just to make Samanosuke more able (im talking about combos and jumping, not running up walls or anything), for his combos just change from sword to sword.
A detail i am most fond of is the fact that your equipment grows stronger and gains levels as you proceed in the game. In other words, in the end of the game, your swords are totally diferent from what they were in the beginning, but they are the same swords (sword evolutions).
Being a slice up zombie i think it was a positive detail to not resemble RE in one way,the fact that when you go back to places you already went through, there are always monsters and zombeis out to get you (that does no happen in RE (mainly for the surprise element)).
In the end, and dispite the constructive criticism, this game stunned me quite a lot. A good surprise (finished in 1.5 weeks - length of game has a problem).
Will an entire legion of demons be enough to kill you??
